I have introduced the subjects of bogs and bog bodies to thousands of children, both in the United States and internationally.
A presentation on bog bodies at the International School of Geneva (Switzerland)
During my presentation, I define what a bog is, explain its "birth" and development, and discuss how and why early European people placed objects and bodies in bogs (and other watery places). I then introduce students to an array of bog bodies, explaining how each was discovered and studied and what the analysis revealed about their lives and deaths. I show some 50 images, including many rare images that I discovered during my research for Bodies from the Bog.
